This course is part of an overall safety system; all staff needs to understand the dangers associated with hazardous substances, they’re potential for causing injury, ill health and damage and the means for protecting themselves and others. It is a requirement of the COSHH Regulations that staff receive appropriate information, instruction and training in the handling of hazardous substances.
– Identifying potential dangers of hazardous substances, and the need to comply with employers practices and procedures
– Recognising hazards
– Identifying appropriate safety measures for those activities that are covered by a general COSHH assessment
– Housekeeping, general chemical safety
– Personal protective equipment and uses
