COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is a lively, thought provoking workshop, which introduces the subject of diversity to employees at all levels of an organisation. The session is designed to give learners a greater understanding of the issues of equality and diversity by challenging their awareness of the issues and by exploring their own attitudes to prejudice and stereotyping.

Learners will take part in group discussions scenarios and exercises to explore the range of diversity in their personal and professional lives.

 

COURSE CONTENT

-Defining and managing Diversity and Equal Opportunities

– Raise awareness of issues of equality, diversity, discrimination and inclusion by  defining these terms and looking at examples

-Recognising barriers towards disabled people and how they can be removed

-Identifying personal experiences of being treated unfairly

-Terms of behaviour and how attitudes may influence behaviour

-The impact of Organisational Values and Mission

-Areas of employment affected by Equal Opportunities

-Exploring our own prejudices and discuss different stereotypes that exist in society

-Awareness of the principles of the Equality Act 2010
