COURSE OVERVIEW

The object of this course is to explain the process of supervision and appraisal in relation to the requirements of good HR practice and the relationships to the Care Standards Act 2000. It will provide Managers and Supervisors with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out effective supervisions and appraisals in their organizational situations

COURSE CONTENT

– A clear understanding of the Care Standards Act 2000 and other legislation
– Understand the need for a range of management and supervisory styles
– Have the ability to develop a ‘best practice’ model for staff supervision in their own care setting
– Establish a range of methods to find the necessary information needed to carry out the staff appraisal process in a fair but rigours manner
– In a workshop situation develop and tryout a model appraisal
– Establish how information relating to the process of staff supervision and regular assessments and appraisals can best be recorded and used to improve performance
