Ligature Awareness

COURSE OVERVIEW

Staff working in health and social care environments face greater risk of managing people who have used a ligature. The outcome of using a ligature can be devastating, causing significant harm or death. It is essential that staff are aware of how to manage this risk and be able to provide effective first aid for a ligatured person. This course will give staff the opportunity to understand risk assessment and risk management as well as the use of a range of ligature removal tools and ligatures
