COURSE OVERVIEW
This course enables care establishments to offer their clients a more fulfilling and worthwhile lifestyle. This course discusses a wide range of creative and stimulating activities individually tailored for your clients and environment.
Traditional activity design focuses on promoting activities in a group setting with the aim of encouraging social interaction and relieving boredom. A more person centred approach aims to consider individual preferences and assessing activity to meet a ‘self directed’ support model. This can be complex and difficult for service providers to deliver successfully without access to resources which are often costly. The course will explore how providers can deliver activities for clients using a range of assessment approaches, based on an understanding of individual clients
From this training delegates are able to give residents a better living environment by offering activities they can participate in and feel a sense of achievement about, rather than simply watching “entertainment”.
The session will use group discussions and scenarios to support delegates to design programmes of activities.
The session can be specifically tailored to meet the needs of various client groups
