Domestic abuse can affect men and women with often devastating and far reaching effects and it affects many service providers in the work they do. This course raises awareness and understanding of the problem of domestic abuse
COURSE CONTENT
This one day awareness course aims to:
– Definition of abuse.
– Awareness of the impact of abuse on victims and their families
– How people react to those experiencing domestic abuse
– Present the role of different agencies in relation to domestic abuse
– Specialist support and help for victims and their families
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of this one day course participants will be able to:
– Demonstrate knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact
– Demonstrate knowledge of the extent of abuse
– Identify the support available
– Respond to disclosures of domestic abuse
– Understand how to complete safety planning
– Understand the need for effective inter and multi agency working
